The Enchanted Forest.

One great thing about Janesville, is that there are so many community events. The park down the street from us has a public toddler pool that is free and open during the summer, and for Halloween, they had an Enchanted Forest. It only cost 3 bux per kid and the adults were free. There was also a bunch of hay for the kids to play in while we waited to be escorted through the enchanted forest. We walked through a forest and along the way we were able to meet characters from fairy tales like Little Miss Muffet, Cinderella, the Muffin Man, and the Headless Horseman (and yes he really was on a horse!)!! But Our FAVORITE was the Three Little Pigs! Despite how cold it was, it was tons of fun.

We LUV Fall!!

The last two weeks have been filled with color!

This is kinda blurry, but it is a pic of the Canadian Geese flying south. It's getting cold!

Matthew loves being buried in the leaves . . .

Huntin'

Well, one of the really neat things that I like about Wisconsin is the outdoors. There's water just about everywhere with ponds, lakes, and rivers. There is amazing wildlife sometimes sitting just outside or flying overhead. Fortunately for me, I took my hunter's safety course early. September 1 marks the opening of hunting season. It starts with Mourning Doves, geese, and the list goes on. So I started with doves. They can be pretty challenging since they hit over 40 mph flying across a field. I shot only 2, and they taste pretty good. However, with a bag limit of 15, I wouldnt consider it a success. I hope to find a better dove spot next year since they've pretty much left the state already. Squirrel season is open now, and that is some serious fun. I've bagged 2 Grey Squirrels (not ground squirrels) and they are easy to clean and cook, and they taste pretty good too. Ive used my 12gauge shotgun, but will probably use my .22 with a scope to make it a little more challenging. I also just got promoted to assistant manager at CVS\pharmacy a few weeks ago and Rachelle has the opportunity to pursue her dreams of her career in art as well as taking care of the kids full time. Wisconsin is great!

Finally Fall

The last couple weeks the weather has finally started to cool off. And with the cool down, the leaves have finally started to change. They started changing in September, but we went through an Indian Summer, and it seemed to delay the leaf chaning process. However, now that the temps have been going down, the leaves are changing everywhere. After 26 years of what seemed to be an eternal summer, I'm finally experiencing my first fall. And it is absolutely breath-taking. ^.^

Corn MaZe

While at the pumpkin patch, we went through the corn maze. Basically, 8 acres of corn with many ways to get L O S T. Inside the maze there were 16 stations where you would take you ticket and punch holes into it, to prove you found it. Each station had a different set of holes, so you couldn't cheat. It was awesome, even though we did get lost a few times.

Pumpkin Patchin

Today, was actually our second day at the pumpkin patch. The first time we went, it was too cold to do much, so we came back for more fun! Matthew enjoyed moving the pumpkins about as Raeden sat around making faces.
