Life Happens . . .

Happy Late Easter! I meant to put this vid up a lot sooner, but life happens. :) Things have been great out here! The weather is FINALLY changing! We have had thunderstorms all day and RAIN! YAY! There is still snow, but its mostly ice that just refused to melt away. Most of our temps have been in the high 40's. So we are getting there. And I know honestly, 40 sounds cold, but with how dry the weather is out here, it really isn't that bad.
Our house is also finally finished. We did our punch card today, which is where we get to walk through (the finished house) and make of list of all the things they can fix, before we sign on the dotted line. I wish I could say there wasn't anything on the list, but Im happy to report most of the things are super minor. And I would have posted pics of our last walk through but I have had serious computer issues the past week.
Basically, I dropped my macbook and broke my HDD. I know... bummer. It probably wouldn't be such a bummer if my life wasn't on a computer, but all my music, PHOTOS, and ART... yeah I lost it all. I am currently in the process of having it recovered, but if any of you are familiar with that... its costs an arm, leg, foot and probably some other appendages. Luckily minutes before I dropped my computer I had finished sending in the final storyboards for my Monster Energy Drink commercial in, and the invoice for them. Otherwise, I would be more devastated than I already am. But Life happens, and really I can't complain much. Life is truly good out here in Wisconsin. You all should try it sometime. ;) Jon found this poem on Wisconsin, and for all of you who wish we would move back.. well this is why we CAN'T.
It's Winter in Wisconsin
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how we love Wisconsin
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess we'll hang around.
We could never leave Wisconsin
'Cause we're frozen to the GROUND!

I got a horsey!!!

Yup, finally, after 20 something years of wanting one.. I finally got one! He is wonderful and he isn't as much work as everyone thinks. Well, at least not yet. :) Last month, I along with several other local and national artists, submitted an application to SMILES, which is a non-profit organization that serves as a therapeutic riding center for adults and children with special needs. You can check out their website at www.smiles.nu. I am sure many of you have seen or heard of the "Cows on Parade" in Chicago. Well this is like that, only horses ( LIFE SIZE COLTS, to be exact) and during the summer months all 80 horses will be around town in Lake Geneva, WI. I guess that is why they named it "Horsing Around Town". This is for charity, I am not getting paid to do it, so if anyone wants to help donate to my cost and expense of painting my horsey, please feel free. At the end of the summer, my horse will be auctioned off to a sponsor, whose monies will go to SMILES. IF anyone is interested in sponsoring my horse, I believe the bids are going for a thousand dollars. It sounds like a lot, but it is a good cause, AND you will have one good looking piece of lawn art. :D I will be posting more pics of my progress as I begin painting him. For some reason when I applied I was under the impression I would be painting him in a warehouse. However, for those of you who are curious, he is in my second floor apartment... yeah... fun. :)
